Philip Pullman has joined the ranks of many who market to deceive. His soon to be released movie: “The Golden Compass” will not help you find your way home. On the contrary, this is a compass that will lead you in the opposite direction! Billions of dollars are spent each year on advertising, marketing and merchandising. People will sell just about anything to make money, and these people will entice you any way they can. Subliminally or directly manufacturers, producers and authors will try and wet your appetite with packaging, and ultimately feed you poison.

Look at the fashion industry today; they practically dictate to the world that if your not twenty-five pounds underweight and wearing provocative clothing, you’ll never be popular. Music producers take icons like Brittany Spears and sell music that’s gift wrapped with sex. Liquor companies advertise their poison with flashy colors and tastes to entice the young. Most kids when experimenting with their first taste of liquor, exhibit a facial expression of pain and distortion. Today, the liquor companies have put more flavor and color blended into their booze than there are stars in the sky. They are targeting our youth. Pornography producers will stop at nothing to reach anyone, including our kids. Their websites are pushed into people’s homes and constantly knocking on your monitor. Some of the most beautifully wrapped packages are merely containers of filth. Some products being pushed through today’s media will cripple you for life.

With terrorists on the rise, nature’s fury of hurricanes, fires, floods and droughts, the wars in Pakistan and Iraq, corrupt government leaders, the shrinking of our economy, gangs taking the streets, and people making decisions about abortion as casually as deciding what color jeans to wear, it’s quite obvious to me, that we need to have God in our lives now, more than ever.

I recently received an e-mail containing all of the government buildings which are taking down the Ten Commandments and removing the word of God. After this devastating list went on and on, the camera moved to the burial grounds of our veterans, where there were hundreds upon hundreds of acres full of our soldiers graves, all which were marked by the cross. Are they going to take those away too?
