Remember this recipe next time you plan a camping trip.
Grilled T-Bones with Sauce
- 5 pounds T-bone steaks
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup smoke flavoring
4 jalapeños, seeded and chopped
3/4 teaspoon lemon pepper
3/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
- Place steaks in a large, shallow dish or pan; set aside.
- In a small bowl combine Worcestershire sauce, smoke flavoring, jalapeños, lemon pepper, seasoned salt and garlic salt. Mix well. Use as a basting sauce or use as a marinade. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 1/2 to 3 hours, turning the steaks periodically.
- Preheat barbeque grill. Grill over hot (white) coals until desired level of doneness is reached, basting frequently with the marinade.
Makes 8 servings.
Cook's Notes:
- Any remaining marinade can only be used as a table sauce if marinade is brought to a boil first; otherwise any leftover marinade must be discarded.
- Because hot peppers contain oils that can burn your eyes, lips and skin, protect yourself when working working with peppers by covering one or both hands with plastic gloves or bags. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly before touching your eyes or face.
