Strawberry Soy Smoothie

1 cup frozen strawberries, thawed, juice reserved
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup soy protein isolate, (see note)
1 cup crushed ice
  1. For each serving, thoroughly mix 1/2 cup thawed strawberries, 2 tablespoons water and 2 tablespoons soy protein isolate in a blender. Add 1/2 cup crushed ice and blend until smooth.
  2. Serve in a tall (12-ounce) glass.

Makes 2 servings.

Note: Soy protein isolates are the most highly refined soy protein products available to consumers. They are a highly digestible source of amino acids: the protein building blocks essential for human health. Soy protein isolates contain about 90% protein. They are low in fat, calories and cholesterol. They can be bought at most health food stores and in some large grocery stores.
