
Recipe requires special teddy bear baking
pan which can be found in most specialty kitchen shops.
Teddy Bear Gift Bread
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup white granulated sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 large beaten egg
1 cup low fat milk
1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Candy to decorate
Teddy bear baking pan
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or spray
baking pan well with cooking spray. In food processor or large
bowl mix all dry ingredients together. Add milk, egg and oil.
Mix until just blended. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until knife
come out clean when inserted. Let cool, then remove bread from
pan onto flat surface.
- Use candy to decorate. Try jelly beans
for the eyes, a nonpareil for the nose, red shoe-string licorice
for the mouth, black shoe-string licorice for a bow tie and jelly
beans for buttons.
