Ortega salsa and chiles make a welcome addition to hamburgers. Grill or pan-fry these tasty burger. Top with lettuce and sliced tomatoes. Serve them with tortilla chops and ice-cold tea.

Ortega Burgers

2 pounds lean ground beef
1 (16-ounce) jar ORTEGA Salsa - Thick & Chunky (Medium), divided use
1 (7-ounce) can ORTEGA® Diced Green Chiles
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon salt
12 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, sliced
12 hamburger buns
  1. Combine beef, 3/4 cup salsa, chiles and eggs in large bowl. Shape into 12 patties.
  2. Grill or broil on each side until no longer pink in center. Top each burger with one slice cheese. Serve on buns with additional salsa.

Makes 12 servings.
