Bedrock® Holiday House
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 (10.1/2-ounce) package Jet-Puffed Miniature Marshmallows (6 cups)
1 (13-ounce) package Post Fruity Pebbles Cereal (about 8 1/2 cups)
2 (16-ounce each) containers ready-to-spread vanilla frosting
Suggested decorations: assorted holiday candies and assorted decorating gels and icings
- Line 1 1/2-quart bowl or 8-inch loaf pan and 8-inch square pan with foil extending about 2-inches beyond sides; lightly grease foil.
- Microwave butter in 4-quart microwavable bowl sprayed with cooking spray on HIGH 45 seconds or until melted.
- Add marshmallows; mix to coat. Microwave 1 1/2 minutes; stir. Microwave an additional 4 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Add cereal; mix with wooden spoon to coat well.
- Press about 6 cups (about 3/4) of the cereal mixture firmly into prepared bowl, using moistened or greased hands to press cereal mixture against sides and bottom of bowl to create 1-inch-thick shell.
- Press remaining cereal mixture firmly into bottom of prepared square pan. Let stand in cool dry place for at least 4 hours or overnight until firm.
- Lift out cereal shapes from molds, using foil handles. Carefully peel off foil. With sharp knife, carefully cut "door" and "windows" from bowl-shaped house. (Kids, ask an adult to help you.)
- Spread 1 container of the frosting onto large plastic board to resemble snow. Place house on snow.
- Using additional frosting, attach cereal mixture square to top of house.
- Decorate as desired.
Makes 1 house.
