A low sodium, low potassium, low carb recipe.
Cheddar Shortbread
- 1 tablespoon (15mL) Mrs. Dash® Tomato Basil Garlic Seasoning Blend
1/2 pound (225g) sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1/4 pound (115g) butter, unsalted
1 cup (240mL) all-purpose flour, sifted
Vegetable oil spray
- Place cheddar cheese and butter in a bowl and cream with electric mixer until fluffy.
- Add flour and Mrs. Dash® Tomato Basil Garlic and mix well.
- Divide dough in two and roll into cylinders 1 inch (1.5cm) in diameter.
- Wrap dough sections in plastic wrap and chill or freeze.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) when ready to serve.
- Lightly spray cookie sheet with vegetable oil spray.
- Cut dough into 1/4 inch (6cm) thick circles and place on cookie sheet 1 inch (1.5cm) apart.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Remove and let cool.
Makes 18 servings.
