MARDI GRAS - NEW ORLEAN'S
GRAND CELEBRATION!

In New Orleans, the grand celebration of Mardi Gras starts the first week of January and goes to midnight on Shrove Tuesday--the day before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent.

The weeks leading up to Mardi Gras (also known as Fat Tuesday) are filled with masquerade parties, festive parades, and plenty of good food. But you don't have to be in the French Quarter to enjoy the delicious fare, sip on hurricanes in plastic cups and the carnival atmosphere. In fact, Mardi Gras-themed events are gaining in popularity across the world.
