Tips ImageQUESTION:

What can I do with an abundance of milk chocolate bars?

I have several milk chocolate bars from World's Finest Chocolate left over from our school's fundraiser. I was wondering if you have any recipes that I could use these candy bars in? Thanks.

ANSWER:

There are many ways to use milk chocolate:

  • Melt it with a teaspoon or so of vegetable shortening and dip cookies (half way or all the way), pretzels, dried fruits like apricot halves or fresh fruits like strawberries. Or drizzle it on top of cakes, cupcakes and cookies.
  • Chop it up into chunks and use in place of chocolate chips in cookies, bars and cakes.
  • Enhance your favorite chocolate chip/marshmallow fudge recipe with the addition of a bar or two with the semisweet chocolate chips.
  • Take a vegetable peeler and shave off some pretty chocolate curls to decorate a cake, or simply grate it to sprinkle over desserts and beverages like hot cocoa, coffee or a creamy milkshake.

These are just a few of the things you can do with those extra chocolate bars. I'm sure you can come up with some more with a little imagination!
