This savory recipe makes for a great gift too.

Indian Spiced Walnuts

2 large egg whites, lightly beaten
1 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
4 cups walnut halves and pieces
  1. Coat a large, shallow, baking pan with non-stick vegetable spray.
  2. Mix egg whites with spices. Stir in walnuts and coat thoroughly. Spread in prepared pan.
  3. Bake in 350 degree F oven for 15 to18 minutes, until dry and crisp. Cool completely before serving.

Makes 4 cups.

Microwave Directions: Prepare ingredients as above. Spread prepared walnuts in microwave-proof dish. Microwave on high in 4 or 5 batches for 2 to 3 minutes each, until dry and crisp. Cool completely.
