Savory Pistachio Honey Buns Chinese-Style

1/4 pound unseasoned ground pork
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup mushrooms
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cornstarch
1/2 cup chopped shelled pistachios
2 (16-ounce each) packages frozen white bread dough, thawed
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup finely chopped shelled pistachios
  1. Stir-fry pork and onion until pork is browned and onion soft; add mushrooms and soy sauce.
  2. Mix sugar and cornstarch; stir into pork mixture. Cook until mushrooms are tender. Remove from heat; add pistachios.
  3. Cut bread dough into 56 pieces. Flatten into 2-inch rounds. Place 1 teaspoon filling in center of each round, gather edges and seal. Place sealed-side down on baking sheet.
  4. Bake at 350°F 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with honey; sprinkle with finely chopped pistachios.

Makes 56 appetizer buns.
