Smoky Jewels
A nugget of cheese is placed atop dried fig, date and/or apricot halves and broiled just until the cheese starts to melt.
Recipe Ingredients:
Dried fruits, cut in half horizontally:
Calmyra figs
Jordan dates, pitted
Apricots
Small pieces of Wisconsin cheese, at room temperature:
Smoked Edam
Smoked Swiss
Smoked Cheddar
Blue cheese
Cooking Directions:
- On each opened half of fruit, place a nugget of cheese.
- Arrange on an oven-proof serving plate.
- Broil very close to heat until the cheese starts to melt but not ooze off the fruit.
- Serve immediately.
