This bread recipe can also be prepared on the grill over indirect heat. Be sure to turn the loaves over halfway through the cooking process to ensure even heating.

Parsley Garlic Bread

2 garlic cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened slightly
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley leaves
2 (12-inch) baguettes
  1. Preheat oven to 375*F (190*C).
  2. In a small food processor or a blender puree the garlic, salt, butter, and the oil until the mixture is smooth; stir in the parsley.
  3. Cut each baguette crosswise with a serrated knife into 1-inch sections without cutting all the way through to the bottom, spread some of the garlic mixture in each cut, and spread the remaining mixture on the tops of the baguettes. Wrap each baguette loosely in foil.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes. Open the foil to expose the tops of the baguettes and bake for 5 minutes more, or until hot and crispy-crusty.

Makes 2 loaves.
