Sourdough Discard Banana Bread
Sourdough discard (unfed starter) adds a distinctive tangy flavor, while the banana adds a subtle sweetness to this simple bread. A recipe for bread machines.
Recipe Ingredients:
2 very ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup sourdough discard
2 cups white bread flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 (0.25-ounce) packet active dry yeast, or 2 1/4 teaspoons
Cooking Directions:
- Place ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
- Select Basic Bread setting and start machine.
Makes 1 (1 1/2 pound) loaf.
