Sourdough Discard Beer Bread

No recipe image available.Sourdough discard (unfed starter) and beer lend their own distinctive flavor to this flavorful loaf of bread. A recipe for bread machines.

Recipe Ingredients:

1 1/3 cups sourdough discard
1/2 cup flat beer*
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cups bread flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Cooking Directions:

  1. Place ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
  2. Select Basic bread cycle and start machine.

Makes 1 (2 pound) loaf.

*To flatten beer, pour it into a small saucepan and heat it to a simmer and allow to cool.
