Tangy Buttermilk
Cheese-Oat Bread
- 1 1/3 cups buttermilk
- 2 3/4 cups bread flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated
sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 3/4 cup shredded sharp
cheddar cheese
1 cup quick or old fashiioned oats
- 2 1/2 teaspoons quick-rising
active yeast
- Place ingredients in bread
machine pan according to manufacturer's directions or as listed
above.
- Select white bread and
light crust settings.
- Remove bread from pan
to wire rack. Cool completely before slicing.
Makes 1 1/2 pound loaf.
Cooks Tip: No buttermilk
on hand? Substitute it by placing 1
tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon white vinegar in a measuring cup and
adding milk to measure 1 1/3 cups. Let set for a minute and proceed
with recipe.
