Recipe for bread machine.
Traditional White Bread
- Ingredients for a 1 1/2 pound loaf:
- 1 cup water
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 3 cups bread flour
- 2 tablespoons dry milk
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

- Ingredients for a 2 pound loaf:
- 1 3/8 cups water
2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon butter or margarine
- 1 3/4 teaspoons salt
- 4 cups bread flour
- 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon dry
milk
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- Place ingredients in the bread machine
pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer. (Usually wet
ingredients first, then dry and lastly the yeast.)
- Select the Basic bread cycle and start
machine.
Makes one (1 1/2 or 2 pound) loaf.
