Whole Grain
Raisin Bread
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 large egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup quick or old fashioned oats
- 2 tablespoons firmly packed
brown sugar
- 1/2 cup raisins
1/3 cup sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons wheat germ
- 3 teaspoons or 2 (1/4-ounce)
packets quick-rising active yeast
- Place ingredients in bread
machine pan according to manufacturer's directions or as listed
above.
- Select white bread and
light crust settings.
- Remove bread from pan
to wire rack. Cool completely before slicing.
Makes 1 1/2 pound loaf.
Cooks Tip: No buttermilk
on hand? Substitute it by placing 1
tablespoon plus 1 1/2 teaspoons white vinegar in a measuring
cup and adding milk to measure 1 1/2 cups. Let set for a minute
and proceed with recipe.
