French Toast Casserole

8 slices white bread
2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, cubed
12 large eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
1/3 cup maple syrup
  1. Remove crusts from bread, cut bread into 1-inch cubes. Place bread cubes in a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish; top with cream cheese cubes.
  2. Combine eggs, milk, and syrup in a large bowl, stirring with a wire whisk until blended; pour over bread/cheese mixture in baking dish.
  3. Bake, uncovered, at 350*F (175*C) for 45 to 50 minutes or until set and golden. Serve immediately.

Makes 8 servings.
