Oatmeal Waffles

1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups buttermilk
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
  1. In a bowl, combine the first five ingredients.
  2. In another bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs and butter; stir into the dry ingredients until smooth.
  3. Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions until golden brown.

Makes 6 to 8 waffles.
