Create a delicious pound cake that looks as good as it tastes.

Golden Pound Cake

3 cups cake flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon mace or ground nutmeg
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/2 cup NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and mace in medium bowl. Beat sugar, butter and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in flour mixture alternately with evaporated milk. Pour into prepared loaf pan; sprinkle with nuts.
  3. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes; remove to wire rack to cool completely.

Makes 12 servings.
