St. Louie-Gooey Butter Cake
- 1 (18.25-ounce) package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
4 large eggs
1 (8-ounce) package) cream cheese, softened
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, divided use
- Preheat oven to 350*F.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, melted margarine, and 2 eggs. Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, 2 cups powdered sugar, and 2 beaten eggs. Pour over the cake mixture and sprinkle with 1/4 cup powdered sugar.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until golden. Cool then sprinkle with 1/4 cup powdered sugar.
Makes 12 servings.
