Melting Moment Cookies

1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup cornstarch
1 cup butter
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 to 2 tablespoons milk
  1. Preheat oven to 350*F (175*C).
  2. In small bowl combine flour and cornstarch; set aside.
  3. Cream 1 cup butter, 1/3 cup powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in flour/cornstarch mixture.
  4. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes. Watch carefully! Transfer to wire racks.
  5. While cookies are baking, combine 1 cup powdered sugar, melted butter, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add enough milk for spreading consistency. Spread on warm cookies.

Makes 2 dozen cookies.
