The contrast of fluffy egg whites with tiny bits of rich chocolate make great cookies to pack and mail as well as elegant fare for parties luncheons.

Mini Morsel Meringue Cookies

4 large egg whites
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 (12-ounce) package NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Morsels
  1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Grease baking sheets.
  2. Beat egg whites, salt and cream of tartar in small mixer bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar; beat until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in morsels 1/3 cup at a time. Drop by level tablespoon onto prepared baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until meringues are dry and crisp. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Store in airtight containers.

Makes 5 dozen.
