Apple Mince Tart
- 3 tart baking apples, sliced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 1/2 cups mincemeat
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
4 teaspoons butter
1/2 cup apricot jam, melted
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
- Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
- In a bowl combine thinly sliced apples with lemon juice; tossing to coat evenly.
- Spread mincemeat in unbaked pie shell; arrange the apples on top. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Dot with butter.
- Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the apples are tender. Brush with melted apricot jam.
Makes 9 servings.
