This strawberry shortcake is an easy summertime dessert.

Berry Time Shortcake

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup milk
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 large eggs
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
Strawberries
Sweetened whipped cream
  1. Heat oven to 400°F.
  2. Combine all ingredients except strawberries and sweetened whipped cream in small mixer bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Spread into greased and floured 8-inch square baking pan.
  3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely. Cut into squares.
  4. Serve with strawberries and sweetened whipped cream.
