Hot Cranberry Apple Cider
This lower-sugar hot cranberry apple cider is perfect for celebrating the holidays with friends and family.
Recipe Ingredients:
1 cup Splenda® Granulated No Calorie Sweetener
64 fluid ounces unsweetened apple cider
1 cup unsweetened cranberry juice
1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
1/2 teaspoon whole allspice
4 cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup unsweetened, dried cranberries
1/3 cup fresh orange juice
1 medium orange, zested
Cooking Directions:
- Place ingredients in large pot. Over low heat, bring to a simmer.
- Simmer for 20 minutes stirring occasionally. Strain and serve.
Makes 2 (8-ounce) servings.
Variations:
- For mint flavored hot chocolate, try adding a drop of mint extract to the milk before simmering.
- For mocha hot chocolate, add 2 teaspoons instant coffee to the milk mixture before simmering.
