Rich, thick barbeque sauce made from scratch in minutes. It's spicy, tangy flavor enhances all meat from the grill. Keeps well for days in the refrigerator.

Zesty Barbecue Sauce

1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups chopped onions
2 teaspoons minced fresh garlic
1 1/2 cups catsup
6 tablespoons water
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
6 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons molasses
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/3 cup Equal® Spoonful*
  1. Heat oil in medium size saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir onions and garlic 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients except Equal®. Bring to boiling, stirring frequently; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in Equal® until dissolved.
  2. Use during last 5 minutes of grilling hamburgers, chicken and pork.

Makes 6 servings.

* May substitute 8 packets Equal sweetener
