Chipotle chiles add a nice smoky flavor to these tasty meatballs.
Chipotle Meatballs
- 1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup plain bread crumbs
1 large egg, beaten
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
3 MAGGI Garlic & Onion Flavor Seasoning Cubes, crushed - divided use
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 (14-ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
2 chipotle chiles in adobo sauce from a can, seeded and finely chopped
2 teaspoons canned adobo sauce from the chipotle chiles
Hot, cooked rice for accompaniment
- Mix beef, bread crumbs, egg, parsley and one crushed seasoning cube in large bowl. Shape into 16 balls.
- Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs on all sides until browned. Add tomato sauce, water, chiles, adobo sauce and remaining 2 crushed seasoning cubes; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cover. Cook for 8 minutes. Uncover; cook for an additional 10 minutes. Serve with rice.
