Cooked bacon is crumbled and mixed in with the ground beef and spices before the patties are formed.

Grilled Burgers Latino

6 strips of bacon
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons chopped onions
1 fresh green chili pepper, seeded, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 avocado, peeled, pitted, sliced
1 tomato, sliced
1 package hamburger bun
  1. Cook strips of bacon until crisp; drain on paper towel. Crumble bacon and mix with ground beef, onion, green chili peppers, garlic, cumin and cinnamon.
  2. Divide into patties and grill to an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C) - well done.
  3. Serve with sliced avocado and sliced tomato over hamburger buns.

Makes 4 servings.
