Plan a family dinner and serve up platefuls of this savory pasta that provides 35 percent of the vitamin A and 10 percent of the iron you need each day.
Linguine with Bolognese Sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped celery
1/4 cup finely chopped (or shredded) carrot
3 cloves garlic, finely minced
8 ounces lean ground beef
1 (15-ounce) can crushed tomatoes in puree
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup dry red wine
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasonings
1/2 teaspoon MAGGI® Instant Beef Bouillon
1 (9-ounce) package BUITONI® Linguine
- Heat olive oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion, celery, carrot, and garlic; cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 to 4 minutes or until tender. Add beef; cook, stirring occasionally, for 4 to 5 minutes or until beef is no longer pink.
- Stir in tomatoes with juice, water, wine, Italian seasonings and bouillon; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 15 minutes or until flavors are blended.
- Prepare pasta according to package directions. Serve sauce over pasta.
