Onion Meat Loaf

2 pounds ground beef
1 package dry onion soup mix
2/3 cup milk
1 large egg
1/2 cup tomato ketchup
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar

  1. Mix together ground beef, dry onion soup mix, milk, and egg. Shape the mixture firmly into a loaf shape and place in a 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Mix together ketchup and brown sugar; spoon onto the loaf.
  2. Bake at 350°F (175°C), uncovered, for about 1 hour.
  3. When done, remove the loaf to a plate and let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.

Makes 8 servings.
