Saucy Skillet Dinner
Quick and easy, this tasty ground beef and macaroni skillet dinner is ready to eat in under 30 minutes. This is a kid-friendly dish, they love it!
Recipe Ingredients:
1 pound lean ground beef
1 (2.4-ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1 1/2 cups water
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
1 cup frozen corn niblets*
1 (2.25-ounce) can sliced olives, drained
3/4 cup elbow macaroni, uncooked
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Cooking Directions:
- In large skillet, brown ground beef; drain excess fat.
- Stir in soup mix, water, tomato sauce, green pepper, corn, olives and uncooked macaroni. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 18 minutes or until macaroni is tender.
- Remove from heat, top with cheese, cover with lid for a minute or two until cheese is melted, and serve.
Makes 6 servings.
*Or use 1 (8-ounce) can corn, drained.
