Zesty Burgers

1 pound ground beef
1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granulates
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground sage
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
1/8 teaspoon liquid hot pepper sauce
4 hamburger buns
  1. Preheat barbecue grill.
  2. In a large bowl mix together ground beef, dry bread crumbs, water, beef bouillon, grated lemon peel, lemon juice, salt, sage, ginger, pepper, and liquid hot pepper sauce.
  3. Shape the mixture into 4 patties, each about 3/4-inch thick.
  4. Grill the patties 4 inches from the heat, turning once, until done, about 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Serve over hamburger buns.

Makes 4 servings.
