Honey Noodle Kugel
This delicious honey-sweetened apple and noodle baked pudding can be served for dessert or as a sweet side dish.
Recipe Ingredients:
Crisp Topping:
1/3 cup bread crumbs
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup honey
Noodle Kugel:
8 ounces medium noodles
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup raisins
4 apples, coarsely grated
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Cooking Directions:
- Prepare Crisp Topping: Combine 1/3 cup bread crumbs and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon; mix well. Drizzle 1/4 cup honey over mixture and stir until crumbs are coated; set aside.
- Meanwhile for Noodle Kugel, cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and place in large bowl. Add butter; mix well. Cool 10 minutes.
- Add eggs, honey, raisins, apples, salt and cinnamon; mix well.
- Place noodle mixture in greased 9-inch square baking pan. Top with Crisp Topping and cover with foil.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 to 15 minutes more or until browned on top.
