The kids in your house
just may change their minds about pecan pie when they find out
this one has chocolate chips! Try it as a fun alternative from
your typical holiday selection.

Chip-Pecan Pie
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate
chips
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup pecan halves
- Sprinkle chocolate chips
on bottom of unbaked pie shell. Freeze for at least 1 hour.
- After shell has been frozen,
preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a large mixing bowl,
combine corn syrup, sugar, eggs, butter and salt. Beat until
well blended using an electric mixer on medium speed. Stir in
pecans and pour mixture over chocolate chips.
- Bake 50 minutes or until
center is set. Cool on a wire rack.
Makes 8 servings.
