A Kool-factaid: The forerunner to KOOL-AID® was Fruit Smack, which was sold via mail order in the 1920s in six flavors: Grape, Cherry, Raspberry, Orange, Root Beer, and Lemon.
Kool-Aid® Pie 1 package of unsweetened Kool-Aid® powdered drink mix, any flavor
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (8-ounce) container of non-dairy whipped topping, thawed
1 (8 to 9-inch) prepared graham cracker crustNote: For best flavor and texture, plan on chilling this pie for several hours or overnight before serving.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat Kool-Aid® powdered drink mix and sweetened condensed milk together until thoroughly blended.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping.
- Pour mixture into the prepared graham cracker crust. Chill until set.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
