Pear Pie

Recipe Ingredients:

1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust*
1 (29-ounce) can pears, drained
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Ground nutmeg for sprinkling

Cooking Directions:

  1. Place drained pears in unbaked pie shell; set aside.
  2. Combine sugar, flour and ginger and spread over pears. Drizzle the cream and vanilla over all and sprinkle with nutmeg.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.

*Use store bought, ready-to-use pie pastry, or your favorite recipe for homemade pie pastry.
