Here's an unusual tomato sauce that will surprise your family. The smoky aroma of cooking bacon will call everyone to the kitchen and have them asking for more.

Linguine Bacon and Tomato Casserole

1 (9-ounce) package BUITONI® Linguine, prepared according to package directions
1 cup diced bacon
1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
1/2 cup diced onion
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided use
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
  2. Cook bacon, onion and bell pepper in a medium skillet until bacon is cooked but not crispy. Add tomato sauce and chili powder; cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Combine pasta, tomato sauce mixture and ½ cup Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and ground black pepper. Transfer to prepared dish; sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese.
  4. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

Makes 4 servings.
