Poppy Seed Dressing
A simple, emulsified sweet-tart salad dressing with poppy seeds. Wonderful on both lettuce and fruit salads.
Recipe Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3 teaspoons powdered mustard
2 teaspoons salt
2/3 cup cider vinegar
2 cups vegetable oil
3 tablespoons poppy seeds
Cooking Directions:
- In a food processor or blender pulverize the sugar. Add the mustard, salt and vinegar to the sugar and mix.
- With the machine running slowly in a small stream add the oil to the sugar mixture.
- Remove mixture from the machine and stir in the poppy seeds. Store in covered glass or plastic container and keep refrigerated.
Makes 4 cups.
