A mouth-pleasing experience: crisp leaves and heart-shaped sweet berries are dressed with a pungent vinaigrette. Sesame seeds and poppy seeds make a great addition for color and texture.

Strawberry and Spinach Salad

1 pound spinach, rinsed and patted dry
1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 1/2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 teaspoon paprika
  1. Combine spinach and strawberries in a salad serving bowl; refrigerate until serving.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine sugar, oil, vinegar, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, onion flakes, Worcestershire sauce and paprika; whisk well and drizzle over salad just before serving.

Makes 6 servings.
