A popular salad that uses crispier romaine lettuce instead of the usual spinach leaves. A sweet and savory alternative to a regular green salad.

Strawberry Romaine Salad

1 head romaine lettuce, rinsed and shredded
2 cups sliced hulled strawberries
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
  1. Combine lettuce, strawberries and red onion in a large bowl; mix well.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sugar, milk, vinegar and poppy seeds. Pour over lettuce and gently toss. Serve immediately

Makes 8 servings.
