Sloppy Josés
Taco sauce and green chiles add a kick of Southwestern flavor to sloppy Joes.
Recipe Ingredients:
1 to 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
Salt, ground black pepper and garlic powder to taste
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup ORTEGA Thick & Smooth Taco Sauce*
1 (4-ounce) can ORTEGA Diced Green Chiles
8 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Topping Suggestions: shredded cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce
Cooking Directions:
- Cook beef and onion in large skillet until beef is browned; drain, season to taste with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Stir in taco sauce* and chiles; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Serve on toasted buns with desired toppings.
Makes 8 servings.
*Or, substitute with tomato sauce for milder flavor.
