The cranberry sauce alternative... California kiwifruit stars in this "new" sauce to serve with roast turkey or ham.

KiwiBerry Sauce

2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 cup pear nectar or apple juice
4 California kiwifruit, peeled an finely chopped
1 California kiwifruit, peeled and pureed or mashed
  1. In small saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch, mixing well. Stir in nectar or juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils, about 2 to 3 minutes. Cool.
  2. Stir in chopped and pureed kiwifruit. Cover and chill.
  3. Serve as an accompaniment to cooked poultry, ham or pork.

Makes about 1 2/3 cups.
