Chewy Cherry Brownies

This easy recipe transforms an ordinary box of brownie mix into extraordinary chewy cherry brownies.

Recipe Ingredients:

1 (18.4 to 18.75-ounce) box brownie mix
1/3 cup Ocean Spray® Cran•Cherry® Cherry Cranberry Juice Drink
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 large egg
3/4 cup Ocean Spray® Craisins® Original Dried Cranberries
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Cooking Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Lightly grease an 8x8x2-inch baking pan.
2. Thoroughly combine all brownie ingredients, except powdered sugar, in a large mixing bowl. Pour batter into prepared pan.
3. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
4. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, and cut into bars.

Makes 16 brownies.

Tip: For a fun and festive look, cut brownies into shapes to fit the occasion, like hearts for Valentine's Day. Save the "scraps" in the freezer to use another time, such as for crumbling over a scoop of vanilla ice cream, then drizzling with chocolate syrup and garnishing with whipped cream and maraschino cherries for a quick "brownie sundae".
