After-School Strawberry Shake
Fresh strawberries, bananas, vanilla yogurt, orange juice, honey and ice cubes are blended together for a healthy shake the kids (and you) will love.
Recipe Ingredients:
1 pint basket California strawberries, stemmed (frozen strawberries can be substituted)
2 medium bananas, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
3 cups ice cubes - divided use
1/2 cup nonfat vanilla or plain yogurt
1/2 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons honey
Cooking Directions:
- Place all ingredients except 1 1/2 cups of the ice cubes in blender; blend on high speed until smooth, scraping down ingredients in blender occasionally. Add remaining ice; continue to blend until smooth.
- Serve in tall glasses, dividing equally.
Makes 2 servings.
Nutritional Information Per Serving (1/2 of recipe): 188 calories; 3 g protein; 1 g fat; 46 g carbohydrate; 1 mg cholesterol; 3 g fiber; 20 mg sodium.
