Old Fashioned

A vintage cocktail made by muddling dissolved sugar with bitters, adding ice and alcohol with a slice of orange or twist of citrus rind and garnished with a maraschino cherry.

Recipe Ingredients:

1 1/2 ounces bourbon or rye whiskey
1/2 ounce club soda
2 orange slices
2 maraschino cherries
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
2 dashes Angostura bitters

Cooking Directions:

1. Muddle one orange slice, a maraschino cherry, Angostura bitters and sugar in glass.
2. Fill glass 3/4 fill with ice.
3. Add bourbon and club soda.
4. Garnish with additional orange slice and maraschino cherry.

Makes 1 serving.
