Buttermilk Oat Bread
A recipe for Buttermilk Oat Bread prepared with a bread machine.
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
2 3/4 cups white bread flour
1 cup rolled oats, toasted*
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- Place ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
- Select basic bread cycle, and start machine.
Makes 1 (2 pound) loaf.
*To toast oats, place oats in a shallow baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes or until oats are lightly browned, stirring frequently. Cool.
