Anniversary Pound Cake

No recipe image available.A rich, vanilla and almond flavored pound cake worthy of celebrating an anniversary. Top slices with fresh fruit and sweetened whipped cream.

Recipe Ingredients:

3 cups granulated sugar
1/2 pound butter, softened
1 cup vegetable shortening
5 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond flavoring
3 cups cake flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Cooking Directions:

  1. In a bowl cream together sugar, softened butter, and shortening. Beat in eggs, milk, vanilla, and almond flavoring.
  2. Sift together cake flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  3. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until done.

Makes 12 servings.
