Anniversary Pound Cake
A rich, vanilla and almond flavored pound cake worthy of celebrating an anniversary. Top slices with fresh fruit and sweetened whipped cream.
Recipe Ingredients:
3 cups granulated sugar
1/2 pound butter, softened
1 cup vegetable shortening
5 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond flavoring
3 cups cake flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Cooking Directions:
- In a bowl cream together sugar, softened butter, and shortening. Beat in eggs, milk, vanilla, and almond flavoring.
- Sift together cake flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture. Mix until thoroughly combined.
- Pour into a greased and floured tube pan
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until done.
Makes 12 servings.
