The crispiness and cool flavor of chopped peppermint candy works nicely with the creaminess of chocolate fudge in these sweet treats.
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup chopped peppermint candy
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Line a 13x9x2-inch baking pan with wax paper; set aside.
- Combine evaporated milk, sugar and corn syrup in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook for 2 minutes; remove from heat.
- Add chocolate chips; stir until melted. Cool for 10 minutes.
- Stir in nuts, candy and extract. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet. Let stand until firm.
Makes 2 dozen confections.
